Independence: There is a Third Option
This small book is the most recent publication from the Red Paper Collective. The group has worked for the past 10
years to find something better than the entrenched arguments of independence versus union.
The Red Paper Collective believes it is the right of people in Scotland to decide their own future. If there is a
demand for a second referendum then it must offer a third option rather than a binary YES/NO question. Referendums with multiple options happen all over the world.
Here we try to define what that third option could be. In a country split down the middle on this issue, having
a third would ensure that voters have a democratic choice that rejects both the status quo and a neo-liberal model of independence.
